This same product is sold at BestBuy for $50.00. This is a great value from this vendor This is my second purchase and I have had no issues both the times. Works per spec. Installation was quite simple.

The General Electric (GE) MWFDS SmartWater Refrigerator Filter reduces lead cysts, asbestos, mercury, and other sediments and pesticides as well as tastes and odor from chlorine treatment for better tasting and healthy water. It is easy to replace with no special tools required. No need to even turn off the water, simply turn the filter to the left to remove. A check valve stops water flow and prevents leakage. Insert a new filter and turn to the right. It replaces GE water filter part numbers GWF, GWFA, GWF01, GWF06, MWFA, and Hotpoint HWF, HWFA . This GE water filter works with a wide-range of GE and Hotpoint models and should be replaced every six months. This was the same filter I could have ordered from GE directly, but at a much better price.

An adapter may be needed if you have the following filters: FXRC, FXRT, MXRC, HXRT, WR97X10006, and Kenmore 46-9905.
